Packing–oh my!

It is just days now until we head out for our big adventure.  In the meantime, Christine, my daughter-in-law, and Gideon, my perfect grandchild, are coming for a visit.  Aaron will be stopping by as well as he works on moving the family to Seattle.  So, I have extra incentive to be prepare early for the trip.  Thank goodness Jim has been working for months on all of the details.

We are allowed two duffle bags a piece for all of our camping, biking, and traveling gear for two months.  Needless to say, this has taken our usual tendency to “travel light” to new extremes.  We need to be prepared for gourmet dinners in Paris, hot days on the road, rain, cold mountain passes, camping, and luxury hotels–a daunting task indeed

Before--empty duffles
Before–empty duffles
All of the stuff
All of the stuff
After--whew!
After–whew!

.

So I thought I would share the before (empty duffle bags–Jack, our dog, posing for perspective–” sorry Jack, you don’t get to comes along”), during–the assorted items laid out for packing, and after–Jack again posing with the filled bags).  Yea!! I did it.

  3. I hope those are sturdy bags. They look ready to burst at the seams. I’ll work with the weather gods for you to get you some sun 😉

  4. Wow! I am impressed! I am also pleased to see we have similar taste in outdoor gear, as I have many if the same items you do:)
Ps. I survived Ironman. I hope you are able to avoid that kind of heat on your adventure!!

  6. Gideon approves of the statement, “my perfect grandchild” as being very accurate and honest. He also says that he tried to sneak into your luggage to go on the European biking adventure with you, but there wasn’t enough space. He is looking forward to spending lots of time with you when you get back.
