First of all, I just pulled up one of my last last blogs and I guess it suffered from remote wifi weirdness. Not only did some photos apparently not load but there are two pics from our ride on our recumbents 6 years ago in Paris. Bizarre!
So will try again and we’ll see what makes it through…
The rain finally stopped (hurrah) and we resumed our ride down the Cassiar Highway.

Little by little the clouds ⛅ receded and the views appeared
This stretch of the highway had lots of berries on the roadside…salmon berry, elderberry, cranberry…and therefore lots of bears!

Jim ahead with bear on the road

We turned up 37A, a spur that deadends at Hyder Alaska. We didn’t want to cross the border back and forth so we stopped a few km short of the end of the road in Stewart BC. Such a spectacular road! It goes by glaciers and waterfalls that seem endless.
Our only animal experience in Stewart was at breakfast. We have eaten out rarely on this trip so decided to go to a quirky- looking Cafe in the morning. Breakfast was great and the eggs very fresh!!

The rain is returning so we decided to drive east to find the sun. Thanks for joining us. See you in Alberta!

Thanks for keeping us with you. Fabulous vistas and Fotos. Glad to read that Jim was in the truck for the bear pix. Wishing you sunshine. Jutta

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Barb! Glad for all the berries. Hopefully the bears are more interested in them than you! That bear looked huge though. Take care out there!

I saw three bears on the road along that section. We both ride with a can of bear spray at the ready!

Gosh…have missed some of your earlier posts for this adventure but continue to respect your sense of “tackling the roads ” around the world with seemingly unquenchable enthusiasm.
I’m headed for the driveway (rarely dangerous) to wash my car. Seriously…it has has lost any remote sense of accomplishment after reading today’s journal. 🙂
Cheers and safety to you both.
