We left Canada last week. I started this post then but didn’t manage to finish it…sorry for falling behind. Wow, what an amazing ride it has been. From the Arctic Ocean to the northern Montana, we rode about 2800 miles and climbed nearly 160,000 feet. As I said in my first post from north of the Arctic Circle, Canada is a vast country. Our experience of Canada and the northern US has been so incredible with highs and lows of all sorts: Actual elevation– from sea level at the Arctic ocean
to over the Continental Divide several times

Riding conditions: rough gravel
and empty roads to big trucks
and flat tires
or smooth pavement with wide shoulders and spectacular views.
Our weather was tough but with sunny skies peeking through just often enough to stave off despair and show off the glorious mountains.

We saw animals up close and personal…enough to have respect

We met many interesting and often helpful locals and sampled more pie than you can imagine
and even with all that Jim’s pants were beginning to fall off.
We had a splendid time with friends, both biking buddies from earlier tours and new friends as well

We rode long and hard but also managed some relaxation

We camped on the Arctic Ocean in 24hr daylight, in the rain

and in beautiful wilderness
We ate more peanut butter sandwiches

Cliff bars, and candy bars than you can imagine

So, we are home in the beautiful Palouse once more,

with tired legs, happy dogs, and memories of the special joy that comes from riding with lovely companions in astonishing places.
Thanks for joining us on our journey. Who knows where the road will take us next?😎

What an amazing trip, Barb! Welcome home!!
